Welcome to Autumn at 24PearlStreet!

“And now in the moonlight they still fall,
But each leaf is fringed with silver.”
—from Amy Lowell’s poem Autumn

Many writers travel or spend time with family during summer, so when autumn arrives they’re ready for generative workshops and communities (it’s no wonder November is National Novel Writing Month!). Other writers spend their summers writing reams—so autumn means it’s time to harvest their best work and to revise towards publication. Either way—writers: it’s time to write! And, 24PearlStreet has a workshop that suits you whether you’re composing memoir, fiction, or poetry.

Check out our catalog—beginning in mid-September—to register for these wonderful workshops which are set to begin in early October.

Harvest Time

Many amazing faculty members will return for our Fall Session to teach 1 or 4 or 8 week asynchronous workshops; as well, many are returning to teach 1 week virtual LIVE synchronous workshops. These folks include Nick Flynn, Kim Addonizio, Fred Marchant, Daisy Fried, Elissa Altman, Peter Campion, Sandra Beasley, Kristina Marie Darling, Anne Sanow, Sarah Rose Nordgren, Curtis Bauer, Joanne Dugan, Ann Hood, and more.

Leaves Fringed with Silver

The Fine Arts Work Center and 24PearlStreet are always happy to introduce new faculty to our students and community, and the new group we have teaching during our Fall Session is stellar. They’re fantastic workshop leaders and writers, and we’re thrilled to work with them! This new group includes January Gill O’Neil, Dorianne Laux, Kelli Russel Agodon, Patricia Spears Jones, Rebecca Morgan Frank, Gayle Brandeis, Elisa Albert, June Sylvester Saraceno, Allison Joseph, Chloe Caldwell, and more.

Wilder Words

I’m super excited to share that our first two virtual WILDER WORDS events were incredible—the summer event was attended by over 100 people! These events will be archived in the Events & Virtual Content section of our website.

In the meantime, we can all look forward to another whirl with wild words happening on October 7th at 6pm (EST). A selection of new Fall Session faculty will read work which focuses on ecological impulses; readers include Elisa Albert, Rebecca Morgan Frank, Allison Joseph, Dorianne Laux, and January Gill O’Neil.

Registration information for WILDER WORDS is coming soon!

Autumn at 24 Pearl Street

We’ll be welcoming our new 2021-22 fellows in October, as well as planning for your return, in-person, in Summer 2022. So, gather your dreams in your virtual cornucopia and look forward… we hope to see you soon!
