Make Broadsides this Summer at FAWC! Broadsides a

Make Broadsides this Summer at FAWC!

Broadsides are posters featuring poetry paired with artwork that are intensely collaborative artistic creations. This summer we’re offering an integrated set of 3 Broadside workshops.

One workshop will develop visual art and another will focus on creative writing, each in conversation with the other. And a third workshop will focus on integrating visual art and writing into powerful Broadsides. These innovative workshops are led by the incredible artists and writers at Broadsided Press (@broadsidedpress): Elizabeth Bradfield (@e.bradfield), Millian Giang Pham (@phammilliangiang), and Alexandra Teague (@alexandra.teague).

Our star magnolia (image 3) was donated by Margaret Murphy, who served as the Work Center’s executive director from 2007-2012, and #TreesProvincetown.

Our amazing facilities team is busy transitioning the grounds from our Fellowship program to our Spring Returning Residencies and Summer Workshop Program.

Introducing our Nuts and Bolts series! We have asked faculty from our upcoming 24PearlStreet online summer program to provide personal writing tips and prompts to suggest a starting point for your own creative work. Today’s prompt comes from our very own Senior Program Manager, poet Jennifer Jean (@fishwifetales).

Our 24PearlStreet online writing workshops allow students the opportunity to focus on their craft at their own convenience while working with esteemed, award-winning faculty and dedicated fellow writers. New faculty for the 2023 Summer Session include Maggie Smith, Melissa Febos, Carmen Maria Machado, and Oliver de la Paz. To hear what prompts and tips these and our other faculty have to share, stay tuned!
