This workshop is part of the Women Playwrights Series.
A special opportunity to work with MacArthur Fellow, and two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist, Sarah Ruhl. In this three-day workshop, the first day will be begin with in-class writing exercises to start your playwright process, or continue a play you’ve already begun. The second day is dedicated to writing on your own time (no class meeting). On the third day, we will workshop the work. You will be bringing in what you’ve written, sharing, and plotting on how to finish your draft. No submitted manuscript in advance.

Biography
Sarah Ruhl’s plays include For Peter Pan on her 70th Birthday, The Oldest Boy, Stage Kiss, Dear Elizabeth, In the Next Room, or the vibrator play, The Clean House, Passion Play, Dead Man’s Cell Phone, Melancholy Play; and Eurydice. She has been a two-time Pulitzer prize finalist, a Tony award nominee, and received the MacArthur Award. Her book 100 Essays I Don’t Have Time to Write was a Times Notable Book of the Year. She teaches at the Yale School of Drama and lives in Brooklyn with her family.
