This workshop explores the powerful synergy between image making, writing, and mindfulness. A series of quick, unconventional prompts throughout the week will encourage participants to use the making of images and the writing of words to tap into their inner lives, where the creative process itself becomes a form of meditation. We will explore and discuss the work of photographers, visual artists, and writers whose work is directly informed by the juxtaposition of text and image. Risk taking and multidisciplinary work is encouraged. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with the instructor to discuss their creative practices. Feedback is highly individualized, and all levels are welcome.
