You will create images using yourself as subject. In this workshop, you’ll use photography to alter the way you look, allowing a ‘new individual’ to emerge, coming to life using your body as a source, changing it into another body that is more defined by the outside, rather than the inside. In focusing on the history of self-portraiture, you will look for references that will lead you to create a series of images.

You should bring any items you think might be interesting to use in own photographs. You should also bring a camera or smart phone to create images.

Biography

JUAN PABLO ECHEVERRI, born in 1978 in Bogotá, Colombia, has exhibited in group and solo shows around the world, including The Photographers´ Gallery in London, The Havannah Biennal in Cuba, Itau Cultural in Sao Paulo, and Museum of Modern Art in Bogotá. His work is part of the permanent collection of Banco de la República in Colombia and CA2M in Madrid, Spain.
