Writing for Witches is a generative writing workshop focusing on and incorporating elements of magic, mysticism, and ritual. Each day, students will engage with prompts from literature, tarot, and magical traditions to create fresh work exploring the mystical, supernatural, fantastical, mythological, and psycho-emotional dimensions of our lives. We will connect with spiritual yearning, practice meditation, read tarot, discuss tarot, astrology, and various mystical practices, and contribute to a class altar. Participants need not identify as a witch, or even as a writer, to enjoy the class, and can be working in a variety of literary mediums (fiction, essay, poetry, etc.). Do have an open heart and a keen interest in exploring both writing and witchcraft, and be prepared to share the writing you generate in-class with the cohort (or, coven). Feedback will focus on positives unless specific critiques are requested. All participants will leave Writing for Witches with greater faith in their work and renewed creative inspiration, a deeper knowledge of various spiritual practices they can weave into their lives for increased connectivity, and a bunch of new, like-minded friends.
