Leah Umansky Lost + Found: a Generative Poetry Workshop Using Found Pieces Poetry October 17 to November 11, 2022 Number of Participants: 15 Price: $650.00 Format: 4 Week Asynchronous Workshop

ASYNCHRONOUS with LIVE elements

This workshop will focus on found texts to guide our minds into discovering new phrases of language we normally wouldn’t use in a poem. A writer’s toolbox is vast! This workshop is inspired by some of the “At Home,” New York Times pieces I created during the Pandemic, where I urged readers to use the newspaper to find language in articles, headlines and bylines, to create Centos, found poems and Golden Shovel poems. Inspiration can be anywhere; sometimes, we just need a jolt! Participants should gather found materials, magazines, newspapers, books that they are willing to manipulate.

Optional LIVE elements: one Zoom meeting in the last week of the workshop to meet each other and to share work.
