The Fine Arts Work Center is committed to increasing access to our 24PearlStreet online writing workshops for young people, low-income people, and individuals from BIPOC, AAPI, LGBTQ+, and other historically underserved communities.

We proudly offer our scholarships in partnership with various nonprofits serving writers from historically marginalized communities—including Cave Canem, the Institute for American Indian Arts, Kundiman, Zoeglossia, and Lambda Literary.
Partner Organization Scholarships
We are excited to partner with Cave Canem to provide seven scholarships to African American writers this Summer.
Interested, qualifying writers may submit one application which includes—in the text of the email—a list of your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice for a Summer workshop; a paragraph explaining your interest in your 1st choice workshop; as well as an attachment containing 3-5 pages of sample work in the genre of your 1st choice workshop.

General Scholar Awards
The Fine Arts Work Center is thrilled to offer three General Scholar Awards worth $600 each towards a Summer 2024 Workshop.
Interested, qualifying writers may submit one application which includes—in the text of the email—a list of your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice for a Summer workshop; a paragraph explaining your interest in your 1st choice workshop; as well as an attachment containing 3-5 pages of sample work in the genre of your 1st choice workshop.
