Summer Faculty Artist Talk: Vicky Tomayko and Nancy McCarthy

Join us for a summer faculty artist talk with Vicky Tomayko and Nancy McCarthy.

 

Vicky Tomayko is an artist and printmaker who lives in Truro, MA. She manages the print shop for the Fine Arts Work Center during the seven-month Fellowship Program, doing workshops, facilitating projects, and working to maintain and improve the printmaking experience. Tomayko also teaches silkscreen at Cape Cod Community College. Her work can be seen at Schoolhouse Gallery in Provincetown and A.I.R. Gallery in Brooklyn, NY.

Nancy McCarthy is a painter who works both from imagination and observation. Upcoming shows include “For The Love of Chardin”, The Miller Art Museum, Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, and The First St. Gallery, NYC. Past exhibitions include: “Veils,” There Gallery, NYC; “Beyond Texture,” Truro Center for the Arts, Truro, MA; “The Un-Still Life,” University of Arkansas, Fort Smith, AK; “A Cat May Look,” Wellesley College, Wellesley, MA; solo exhibition, Fitchburg University; “Color Works,” Truro Center for Arts, Truro, MA; Manifest Drawing and Painting Center, Cincinnati, OH; Simmons College, Boston; Gutman Library, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA; and Bowery Gallery, NY. Awards include: a residency at the Inside Out Museum in Beijing China, a St. Botolph Foundation Award, Artist’s Grant, Vermont Studio Center and a Ragdale Foundation Fellowship. She serves as a mentor in both MassArt’s and Lesley University’s low residency MFA Programs and has taught painting, drawing and color courses at Massachusetts College of Art and Design since 2005. In 2018 she was a visiting artist at the Beijing Royal Academy in Beijing, China.

All readings and artist talks are held in the Stanley Kunitz Common Room, unless otherwise noted. Our annual summer exhibition, Density’s Glitch,  is on view through August 28, 2022 in our Hudson D. Walker Gallery. Both venues are located at 24 Pearl Street in Provincetown.

Gallery Hours: Monday – Thursday, 11 AM – 3 PM / Friday and Saturday, Noon – 5 PM

We require all students, faculty, staff, and guests to wear a mask when indoors at the Work Center.



The Stanley Kunitz Common Room and the Hudson D. Walker Gallery are accessible facilities in compliance with ADA guidelines.
