About Our Visiting Artists
Tschabalala Self (b.1990 Harlem, New York) lives and works in the Hudson Valley, New York. Self is an artist who builds a singular style from the syncretic use of painting, printmaking and sculpture to explore ideas surrounding figuration. She constructs depictions of predominantly women using a combination of sewn, printed, and painted materials, traversing different artistic and craft traditions. The formal and conceptual aspects of Self’s work seek to expand her critical inquiry into selfhood and human flourishing. Recent solo exhibitions and performances include Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Melbourne (2025); Longlati Foundation, Shanghai (2025); Espoo Museum of Modern Art, Finland (2024); Kunstmuseum, St. Gallen (2023); Le Consortium, Dijon (2022); Performa 2021 Biennial, New York City (2021); Baltimore Museum of Art, Baltimore (2021); ICA, Boston (2020); among others.
Paul Harding is the author of three novels, the Pulitzer Prize-winning Tinkers, Enon, and This Other Eden, which was a finalist for the National Book Award, and shortlisted for the Booker Prize. He has received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, the National Endowment for the Arts, and PEN America. He is Distinguished Professor of Creative Writing at Emerson College.
MiYoung Sohn (born in Busan, South Korea) transforms everyday materials to translate her observations to create a new interpretation of her daily experience. Her sculptural works, installations, and works on paper are process-driven and labor-intensive. In response to living on the tip of Cape Cod year-round navigating solitude and isolation, MiYoung looked inwardly to explore intuitive and experimental processes in her Daily Collage Series. She uses commonly accessible materials such as paper, paint and glue to create colorful, abstract, and whimsical compositions. She makes collages daily as a reminder and as a goal to continue her daily practice whatever the circumstance.
Vicky Tomayko is an artist and printmaker who lives in Truro, MA. A past Fine Arts Work Center Fellow and the current manager of FAWC’s printshop, she leads workshops for Fellows, facilitates projects, and works to maintain and improve the printmaking experience at FAWC. Tomayko also teaches silkscreen at Cape Cod Community College. Her work can be seen locally at Schoolhouse Gallery in Provincetown.
The Fine Arts Work Center is committed to making its facilities inclusive and accessible for everyone. If you need any accommodations to fully participate, please contact our Accessibility Coordinator, Susan Blood, at 508-487-9960, extension 106.
