Fellows Exhibition: Calhan Hale
Exhibition Dates: April 3-12, 2026
Opening night: April 3, 5-8 PM
Hudson D. Walker Gallery
If naming something is the first step toward dealing with what is not yet known, I am interested in the inverse. My work explores what becomes possible when familiar things evade expectation and start to live independent from their associations. Re-contextualizing elements from my surroundings through painting, I play with the line between image and object, familiarity and strangeness in order to disrupt assumption with surprise or discovery.
