The world is changing more rapidly than ever, even as the economic realities of literature become increasingly bleak—but big change brings new opportunities. Editors, and published writers, Katie Dozier and Timothy Green discuss the future of publishing in the emerging digital landscape. The presentation will address the current state of the industry as well as explore the possibilities of new technologies, with a focus on how to utilize the new age in which we live to reach a larger audience.

About the Instructor/Moderator

Timothy Green has been the editor of Rattle, managing its operations since 2004. He hosts Rattlecast and Critique of the Week and co-host of The Poetry Space_. He is the author of American Fractal (Red Hen Press) and co-author of Hot Pink Moon and Did You See the Moon Honey (both Fungible Editions) with his wife, Katie Dozier. His book Poems for Katie is forthcoming in 2026. He holds a masters in professional writing from USC, has been a contributing columnist for the Press-Enterprise newspaper, and is co-founder of the Wrightwood Arts Center. He lives in The Woodlands, Texas, with Katie and their family.

 

Katie Dozier, a former professional poker player, is the author of All That Glitter (winner of The Poetry Box’s 2025 Chapbook Prize), and Watering Can (Alexandria Labs). She’s the co-author of Hot Pink Moon: A Crown of Haibun, and Did You See the Moon Honey (long-listed for a Distinguished Books Touchstone Award) with her husband, Timothy Green. Her book Residency Review is forthcoming in 2026. She loves long conversations about short poems. Katie is the creator of the top-rated podcast The Poetry Space_, the Haiku Editor for ONE ART, and an editor at Rattle. She lives with her husband in The Woodlands, Texas, their four children, and too many books.
