About the Offering

Fridays in April 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th at 7pm-8pm (Eastern)

Want to meet for a poetry date? Join me for an hour of conversation guided by poems we love.

Bring up to 4 of your favorite poems that help you make sense of the world. In these sessions we will celebrate poetry as a place to hold curiosity, observation, memory and mystery. How did you find the poems that speak to you? What seasons of your life do they help you access? What makes poetry uniquely re-readable? Additionally, we will consider our desires to contribute to the poetic tradition. What makes you want to write? What truth are you chasing?

The brainchild of award-winning poet Marie Howe, this offering invites participants to share and discuss their 4 favorite poems with a fellow poet during 1 hour sessions over the course of 4 weeks. Facilitators create breakout rooms for sharing and aggregate poems as well as lessons learned for poem writing. “Poems We Love” are sometimes themed and always inspiring.
