Housing and Parking
Housing, both on-site at the Fine Arts Work Center and in Provincetown, fills up very quickly. To secure housing, please book as early as possible.
On-Site Housing
The Fine Arts Work Center has limited apartments available for students on a first-come, first-served basis. An apartment costs $1,100 for six nights, and payment-in-full is due at registration, based on availability. Information regarding on-site housing availability is provided at the time of registration.
All apartments have a full-sized bed, kitchen, private bath, and wireless internet. They do not, however, have a telephone, television, or air-conditioner (fans are available). Bedding, towels, and linens will be provided, but students should bring their own toiletries. Coin-operated laundry facilities will be available on select evenings for students staying on-site. Please bring quarters and detergent.
Check-in is on Sunday between 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM and check-out is by noon on Saturday. Please note that we cannot accommodate early arrivals, late departures, or requests for a particular apartment.
Please note that smoking is not allowed anywhere on our property, indoors or out.

Parking
We have limited on-site parking at the Work Center, which is reserved for faculty and for students who are staying on site, and who have requested and received a parking spot. Parking for students is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. All other students must secure off-site parking. Please note that parking in Provincetown in the summer is challenging. For comprehensive information on parking in Provincetown, please visit the Provincetown Parking site.
If you have a handicapped parking placard or mobility issues and are not staying onsite, please contact Sara Siegel, Summer Program Manager, at ssiegel@fawc.org about obtaining a parking space on-site.
There are several municipal parking lots nearby to FAWC.
We recommend parking at these nearby lots, which will likely have space if you arrive before 9 am.
- 14 Johnson St (across from FarLand Provisions)
- 363 Commercial St (next to 361 Coffee & Espresso Bar)
- 401 Commercial St (next to Treadwell Gallery)
If those are full, Provincetown Public Parking (next to CVS) has a very large lot.
