We are thrilled to share Second-year Fellow Tinja Ruusuvuori’s feature in Artscope Magazine. As a gifted filmmaker and visual artist, she is passionately working on a unique endeavor named “radio of uncertainty,” which will be a collaborative, analog neighborhood radio station. With no specific name or schedule, Ruusuvuori sees the beauty in ambiguity, as it leads to a sense of wonder, particularly in times of change.
“When you scroll through the FM dial and hear the sounds of ocean waves and whale songs blending with the crackle of radio static, you know the program is about to begin,” [Ruusuvuori] said. “The station doesn’t have a set name or airtime. Radio, as a medium, is very ephemeral, happening in the now. And now, in times of uncertainty, we are trying to view confusion as a gateway to curiosity.”
