2026 Summer Workshops
“FAWC has a magic that can’t be replicated anywhere else that I know of–situated on the beds of Motherwell and Kunitz, the spirits continue to welcome me into a space where new, wild projects can grow into fruition.”
–John Bonanni, Summer Workshop Student
We’re so excited to welcome you to the Fine Arts Work Center this summer. We have a full lineup of world-class instructors and outstanding workshops to help you make creative leaps and feel part of a vibrant, supportive, and fun creative community.
Catalog Release and Registration
- The online workshop catalog is live and registration is open!
- As you browse the catalog, make sure to choose more than one workshop, because many workshops fill up quickly. You’ll want to have a back-up choice ready to go, just in case the workshop you really want is full by the time you try to register.
Housing
- Our onsite housing is completely booked. But have no fear! Many local hotels and B&Bs are offering FAWC students discounts to make taking a workshop as affordable as possible. Please visit our housing page to find accommodations that suit your budget.
- We highly recommend that you book accommodations as soon as possible. Prices are as low and availability is as high as they’re going to be right now. Rooms will get scarcer and more expensive the closer to summer we get.
What’s New
Here are some of the new things this summer that we are most excited about:
- New Education Programs Manager. We are thrilled to welcome Alexis Wright to the summer team as our new Education Programs Manager. Alexis has a rich background in arts administration, and is herself a writer.
- New Instructors. We are so excited to welcome a wonderful group of new instructors this summer. Check out our faculty page to see who’s teaching this summer.
- New Registration Tier. We are proud to participate in Mass Cultural Council’s Card to Culture program, which enables us to provide a 50% discount off the standard tuition rate to all EBT, WIC, and ConnectorCare cardholders. If you would like to receive the Card to Culture discount for any of our Summer Workshops, please follow the regular registration process, and choose the ‘Card to Culture Tuition Rate’ when asked to choose a tuition rate.
If you have any questions at all about FAWC’s participation in the Card to Culture program, please contact Program Director David Simpson at dsimpson@fawc.org.
Other highlights
- Queer Week is back! Andrea Lawlor is our returning curator for Queer Week IV, and they have recruited an amazing group of instructors.
- Honor Tax. We are continuing our Honor Tax, which we initiated last summer. All Summer Workshop participants will have the opportunity to make a donation to the Native Land Conservancy in Mashpee, MA. You’ll be able to make a donation during the check-out process of the workshop registration process, or by using the link or QR code available at all summer events.
- Scholarships. We are continuing our commitment to making the Summer Workshops as accessible as possible by offering a robust array of scholarships. Last year, 25% of our students attended a workshop without having to pay tuition, thanks to our many scholarship partners, and to the generosity of our community. We aim to match or exceed that this summer. Visit the Scholarships page on our website to learn more about our scholarship program and apply for a scholarship. Visit the Access Fund page on our website to make a tax-deductible donation to support our scholarship program.
Thank you to our institutional supporters!
