The Summer Project Residency is an opportunity for artists and writers to take advantage of one or two weeks at the Work Center for self-directed work. In 2026, the Summer Project Residency will take place from June 7th – June 20th, and is open to the general public.

Week 1: June 7-13
Studio Apartment: $1200
1 BR Apartment: $1350
2 BR Apartment: $1650
Visual Arts Studio: $225
Week 2: June 14-20

Apartments and studios are available on a first-come first-served basis.
Check in is 4 – 6 PM on Sunday and check out is by noon on Saturday. We cannot accommodate any early arrivals or late departures.
All apartments have a full-sized bed, kitchen, private bath and wireless internet. Apartments do not, however, have a telephone, television or air-conditioner (fans are available).
Bedding, towels, and linens will be provided. Coin-operated laundry facilities will be available on select evenings. Please bring quarters and detergent.
FAWC will accommodate service animals without question and emotional support animals with proper documentation. Otherwise, we must ask you to please leave your pets at home. For our full Service and Emotional Support Animal Policy, please click here.
Smoking is not allowed anywhere, indoors or out, on Work Center property. Residents are expected to leave their apartments clean. A cleaning fee will be charged for apartments that require extra cleaning.
If you cancel your residency three or more weeks prior to your start date, you will receive a full refund, minus a $75 processing fee. If you cancel your residency less than three weeks prior to your start date, you will forfeit your entire payment.
