Summer 2022 Policies

Cancellations and Refunds | COVID-19 Health and Safety

As public health recommendations continue to evolve, the Fine Arts Work Center will continue to be responsive to changing public health guidelines and protocols in order to keep our community safe.

For Summer 2022, we will require all faculty, staff, and guests over the age of five to present proof of vaccination, and for guests 12 and up, proof of vaccine and booster (if eligible). Additionally, we anticipate that we will require all students, faculty, staff, and guests to wear a properly fitted mask when indoors—including studios, gallery, bookstore, and common room. The only exceptions to this rule will be for children under two, and for presenters when they are on stage presenting.

We will also require all faculty, students, and guests to sign a Covid-19 Waiver of Liability and Indemnity at check-in and provide proof of a negative rapid test within 24 hours of arrival.

In the event of cancellation of an in-person Summer 2022 Workshop by either a governing body or the Fine Arts Work Center due to public health mandates, every effort will be made to offer you a comparable workshop in a virtual context (with a full refund for any housing purchases). Otherwise, you will be able to defer payment to Summer 2023, or you will be eligible for a full refund.

If you need to cancel your attendance due to a positive COVID test, we will be happy to place you in a session later in the season. Otherwise, you will be able to defer payment to Summer 2023 or be eligible for a full refund with proof of a positive test.

If you choose to cancel your attendance for any other reason, our cancellation policy remains as it always has:

If you cancel your workshop three weeks or more before the workshop start date, you will receive a full refund minus a $75 cancellation fee. If you cancel your workshop less than three weeks prior to the workshop start date, you will forfeit your payment in full.

If you would like to cancel your workshop, please send an email to workshops@fawc.org.

Note:  Any request to “switch” or “transfer” from one workshop to another is subject to all the same cancellation policies as listed above.
